Patricia Slaven, Training Specialist
Patricia joined the JPIA in May of 2008 as the organization’s Training
Specialist and was recently promoted to the position of Training Manager.
She is tasked with overseeing all aspects of JPIA’s training efforts
including classroom training, webinars, conferences, and the Lending
Library – all important benefits offered to JPIA members at no additional
cost. Patricia will look to bring new and innovative training ideas and
methods to the association for the benefit of its members. She has
introduced workbooks to supplement the learning experience and has
implemented effective presentation methods from delivery of content to
the design of PowerPoint slides. Patricia will look to expand the online
training options to supplement the very successful introduction of webinars
which occurred in 2010. Patricia travels all over the state to deliver
needed classes and has helped managers and supervisors develop their skills
as leaders and mentors. Patricia obtained her Bachelor's degree from the
University of Redlands, her Master's in Business Administration from
California State University, Sacramento, holds the designation of Senior
Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Society for Human Resources
Management, and is a certified a Synchronous Trainer (web trainer designation).
