JPIA Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager Retires

Melody Tucker, Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager, retired from the JPIA after 7 ½ years of excellent service. Melody’s career in the workers’ compensation industry spans over 30 years prior to her joining JPIA. Fortunately for JPIA, in 2015 a vendor reached out to Melody and told her that she would be a perfect fit for a fantastic opportunity at JPIA. Melody was thrilled about the open Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager role and JPIA was equally pleased to select her for it.

At JPIA, Melody was enthusiastic about providing the best possible customer service experience for members. Melody did not do this on her own. She states, “My employees are the reason I succeeded. Great staff and I will miss the people.”  Melody is grateful that she found JPIA and has expressed that she only wishes she had found JPIA sooner.

At her retirement party, Robert Greenfield, JPIA General Counsel, shared: “Melody embodies the concept of a gentle person and without thinking about it; [she] exhibits the best of what a leader could be.”  During Melody’s tenure at the JPIA, she and her team have consistently earned first, second, and third-place rankings in the statewide audit for public and private entities. Melody has encouraged growth and has provided guidance for her team. Melody’s ability to remain calm, steady, encouraging, and professional in the flurry of chaos in the workers’ compensation industry is a valuable skill that her team has developed through her leadership.

Melody looks forward to a new chapter filled with travel, travel, and travel! The JPIA will miss Melody, is thankful for her service and leadership, and wishes her a healthy and happy retirement.
