PROVIDING PROTECTION & RESOURCES

The Association of California Water Agencies Joint Powers Insurance Authority (ACWA JPIA) is much more than just an insurance provider. In addition to risk management, ACWA JPIA offers a wide variety of training to its members at little to no cost. This training takes place locally, regionally and online to offer members the greatest flexibility. ACWA JPIA also provides an extensive library of videos, training manuals and other publications for members to utilize as needed.

The JPIA’s Property Program is a highly cost-effective method for members to protect their physical assets, such as buildings and infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment. Like the Liability Program, the Property Program’s Memorandum of Coverage eliminates the need for multiple and often conflicting or redundant commercial policies.

The JPIA’s Liability Program is designed specifically for public water agencies. It provides protection to members against liability for bodily injury, property damage, errors and omissions, employment practices, fiduciary responsibilities, products, and pollution. The program provides pooled, reinsurance and excess coverage of up to $55 million for its members.

The Special Events Program was established to provide members with a method for transferring risk to individuals or groups using public facilities for events such as weddings, athletic events, fairs or parades. The program provides up to $5 million per occurrence limits and includes coverage for both public and private events. Coverage options include: athletic participants, instructors and volunteers, vendors, exhibitors, concessionaires and liquor liability. It is a cost effective program and often less than a member’s RAP.

Crime – Employee Dishonesty

Employee Dishonesty is an excess policy providing higher limits than the pooled program up to $5 million per occurrence.

Coverage is provided for the following incidents:

Public Employee Dishonesty

Forgery or Alteration

Theft, Disappearance and Destruction

Difference In Condition (DIC)

DIC is an individual or group purchase policy providing Earthquake and Flood coverage with higher limits than the limits provided by the pooled property program.
