The ACWA JPIA Professional Development Program (PDP) was developed to offer current, in depth training and educational opportunities for JPIA members. The program focuses on giving participants the tools to perform their job safely, legally, and efficiently. Three specialty areas are offered: Supervisor Basics, Human Resources, and Operations. Each certification requires approximately 40 hours of education, including face-to-face training, online, and self-study options.

Applications are still being accepted for the JPIA Leadership Essentials for the Water Industry Program beginning January 16 in Costa Mesa, CA. Workplaces have seen dramatic change in recent years, which calls for a dynamic response from water agencies to develop skills needed for leading now – and into the future. That’s where the JPIA Leadership Essentials for the Water Industry Program comes in. This exciting program with 180+ graduates offers water agency General Managers and other senior staff a year-long, robust education experience to develop leadership skills and facilitate growth in three spectrums: self, team, and agency leadership.
The success of this program is due to its unique structure:

Program Investment includes 80+ hours of instruction, all materials, assessments, and meals:
$2,195 JPIA members ($500 discount for Liability Program members)
$2,625 Non-members
Attendance requires a one-year time commitment with four in-person sessions (2 days each) and monthly webinars. Space is limited, with applications accepted annually in Spring for the coming year’s programs held in Costa Mesa or Roseville, CA beginning in Fall. Priority given to JPIA member General Managers and Assistant General Managers. Grants are available for members needing financial assistance.
